Sometimes your brain just runs out of power, and you can’t think of what to write for content. It isn’t a matter of talent because you have written some great pieces in the past, but when you need a fresh idea someday, your think tank might be empty. It happens to everyone, yet content is neverending and always updating. Content is also important to driving traffic to your site. There are a few different ways to come up with compelling articles and posts even when you don’t know what to write about. These strategies can help you come up with the best content for your site in less than 10 minutes.
Borrow Some Content
If you have 5 to 10 favorite blogs or sites, why not curate some content in a post? You can line up all of your favorite sites and write a short paragraph about each of them in a “Top 10” style. All you have to do is explain why they’re your favorite articles or what they can help your readers learn.
Ask Colleagues for Ideas
If you really can’t think of anything, there’s probably some people around you who have a few ideas or thoughts about blogs. You can do this with other people who work with you, friends, family or even shared interest groups. That’s why it’s so important to join groups on Reddit, LinkedIn and Facebook so you always have something interesting to write about, too.
You can always ask your audience what they want to hear about. You can collect ideas in a sticky post or request them in advance, and you can always go back to the suggestion box or question box when you don’t know what else to write about. You can also ask about their reactions to a specific topic or questions about one subject. Another idea is to take all types of short answer questions and answer them in one blog post.
Conduct an Interview
Interviews can be a great way to network with other authors, celebrities, bloggers and companies. You can create a list of interview questions for the person you want to interview and do an outline of the article. Interviews are also a good way to connect with interesting individuals. You can use social media to find someone to interview and network as well.
Write a Review
What kind of products relate to your blog or website? Are they any products you can endorse? If so, you can write a review about products that go along with your content and will entice your readers. You don’t have to get too creative here either. You can simply write about what you like and don’t like about different products. If you write a lot of reviews, you can always ask a company to submit a product to be reviewed.
Tell a Story
This is if you want to go into a longer post about something a bit personal. You can use a story for inspiration from your life and illustrate the event to your readers. You can use that to segway into different topics depending on what your blog or site is about. It doesn’t take a lot of creativity to start up with your own personal story, but it can lead to a longer post that is important for today’s long-form content value, which is getting higher.
Remember the Golden Rules
People like to read content with images, videos, links, typography and original content graphics. This means that you should do your best to find something original and entertaining to add to any post that you update on your blog or website. This can mean creating a video to go along with it or just creating a cool graphic. Subheaders are also important for breaking up the text, so don’t forget.
